We’re here because…

A muse at day’s ending toward a new year

  revised April 15, 2025

I would be considered ‘retired’ by most people, but not in my mind. I finished two Master’s degrees during our Covid lockdowns and I am chomping at the bit ready to put all that I learned out into the “world”. And I was doing just that, then came a blip.

But we can’t let something like a blip detour our whole plan…or life. So I retreated for a while and now I’m ready, all the way into 2025 to begin again, again.

This is what I am pondering as another Spring season creeps closer and closer.

So, I am making art and making plans too. Plans to bring this idea into focus, a focus so sharp that it materializes itself as an offering into the world that I believe so deeply needs the healing it brings.

As I spend time in the Southern Ontario Wren’s Nest Studio here in Leamington once again, I just need to be open to listen and move to this music that is drawing me. In good time, all will come.

And though what needs birthing feels a little distant, like individual trees in a forest, I do see it shimmering, beckoning, smiling … and I know that if I focus on that which I am being called to do and be, all will be well.

And so it is…

  • Moving House…erhm…apartments

Photo by Michal Balog on Unsplash Well, we’ve done it again. Moved that is. And this time we had “non-professional” help. A son, his childhood friend and his pastor. Wow! What a difference. I cannot express this strongly enough. This was our smoothest move ever. Professional movers could take a cue from how “professional” these three were. There Read more

Many thanks to Vita Marija Murenaite on Unsplash for the use of this wonderful image! My early childhood years were spent in a boarding house with people older than my grandmother, except for my mother. It was a wonderful start to life. • Summer Sky at Night

This is the month to watch The Pleiades, especially from the 10th to the 14th in my little corner of this big, blue marble, spinning, spinning in its place. So, yesterday, we napped mightily and snuck out to Hillman Marsh around 2ish to set up “camp”. No sooner was I out of the car, but Read more

    Pool Musings … Midday

Sunday, August 9th We come down to “our” pool at midday for a swim and some exercise to work out the kinks accumulated over the years and through this pandemic indolence. Two men, one young, one older, attend at the barbeques on the patio. Corn and some other food are carefully turned. A man, Read more

Grandmother Moon will be fully illuminated tonight. (If you click on the link you can see a video from NASA that explains the hows and whys of the full moon.) It would be great to get outside under her glow. (whether you can see her or not, she is there.) In English we could translate Read more
